Message coil is supposed to be sealed off from the fuel. Other theories involve the electrolysis, but blame a manufacturer defect for the coil not being sealed. There is much speculation, but if the coil is hot at all times, and the fuel does come in contact, the ethanol can easily act as a very low current ground, causing the coil to break down. All theory and speculation though, and i doubt anyone has the money/patience to really investigate it...i will most likely do the 12v switch if i ever get bigger injectors, but probably not for my 370's. (I just need an damn justification to buy bigger injectors).
